All joints, seams, and connections should be sealed sufficiently to give your system the best performance. Sealing ductwork can reduce cost on energy bills and help improve proper air flow to all areas of the home.
With some of today's home builds, not all contractors are taking the time to seal the ductwork properly as it can be very time consuming. There are different ways to seal ductwork, as one way would be to apply a glue based product to the inside of the ductwork sealing any gaps and holes from the inside. Another way is to use a duct mastic compound and UL listed foil tape on leakage points of the ductwork. This can be performed mainly in unfinished basements where the ductwork is exposed or if the ducting is accessible. Although it may not be possible for us to seal every square inch of the ducting, it can still make a huge difference to the HVAC system getting a large portion of the ductwork sealed.
Pricing for duct sealing depends on the square footage of the home and length of time it takes us to seal the ductwork. Our methods of duct sealing range between $300 and $500. We are licensed and know what to look for when it comes to the importance of your air duct system.
